ABOUT THE JOB:
The Director of Distribution is responsible for the planning and coordination of enterprise-wide cooling and shipping in North and South America spanning across 50 seasonal operating locations.  This is achieved by creating strategic growth plans for geographic regions, developing and implementing best practice processes across all locations, delivering logistics support services, and leading efforts to identify and adopt outstanding equipment and technology solutions for our distribution network.

This position will provide leadership to a team of managers that operate key functions in support of the flow of products and information from origin in the field to destination with the customer. It includes optimizing cold chain quality while meeting customer service commitments; managing key aspects of distribution center relationships including 3PL contracts, and achieving continuous improvement of operating efficiencies.

The Director of Distribution, and the group of direct report managers, operates in a matrix organization structure.  He/she will lead change and performance across our 50 site network, in conjunction with Regional leadership teams that operate and execute daily operations at each site.  This position may require up to 50% travel, both domestic and international, which requires a valid California Driver’s License, eligibility for Company vehicle insurance and the ability to travel unrestricted on international travel assignments.

        Five (5) plus years of Distribution leadership experience required; preferably in perishable goods
        Bachelor’s degree in business or related field is required, Master’s degree preferred
        Knowledge of post-harvest handling of perishables in a multi-site distribution system is greatly valued
        Demonstrated success and a history of high performance accomplishments
        Experience in managing a team of business professionals required, including experience successfully directing, managing and motivating employees and building effective teams.
        Familiarity with U.S. and international customs rules and regulations
        Prior experience operating in a matrix environment a plus
        Demonstrated experience and success with Process Improvement initiatives
        Experience managing and collaborating with multiple stakeholders
        Knowledge of and experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems required.  Microsoft DAX platform preferred
        Experience identifying potential roadblocks and obstacles to organizational projects         
        Travel may be required (up to 50% domestic and international)
        Bilingual (English/Spanish) fluency strongly preferred
        California driver’s license and the ability to be covered under company-sponsored vehicle insurance program are also required.

        A valid passport and the ability to travel internationally without restrictions are also required.

The Director, Global Enterprise Applications and Support is an executive member of the Driscoll’s Information Technology Leadership Team reporting to the CIO. This position will lead and support a team of Director and Manager direct reports in the design, implementation and support of global enterprise business applications. He/She will ensure operations and deliverables of Custom In House Applications, Mobile Applications, Commercial off the Shelf (COTS) and Cloud Solutions (SaaS) applications are delivered in alignment to the global business strategy. 

This key leadership position requires the ability to develop effective global teams, manage multiple initiatives, build/maintain strong relationships and facilitate positive and solution-oriented discussions with key cross functional business stakeholders, understand supporting systems, and organizational and compliance requirements across multiple geographies globally. 

A primary goal of this role is to drive the comprehensive build-out of a global application services delivery program that will be leveraged to the support of Driscoll’s long term growth objectives. This position will direct the efforts of a global enterprise development, implementation and support organization that is a combination of internal employees and multiple partnerships with global systems vendors. The support team is distributed across multiple geographic locations including North America, Europe, Middle East, Asia/Pacific, and South America.

• Must maintain CA driver’s license and eligibility for Company vehicle insurance

• Passport required, including the ability to travel internationally without restrictions, business travel: domestic currently estimated at up to 20% of time, with occasional international travel required


RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage the Performance Improvement Coach Certification program as well as the deployment, assignment, and management of internally certified Process Improvement Coaches. Manage CPI functional direct reports, currently CPI Planner, additional staff in the future. Mentor managers in the application and management of CPI tools and methodologies

• Partner with the Continuous Improvement Council and The Executive Team to select and prioritize improvement projects and build a strong improvement strategy.

• Prepare the annual budget for the CI department and projects. Responsible for reporting of cost/benefit analysis for CI projects in conjunction with finance.

• Accelerate adoption of process improvement efforts throughout the organization by partnering with Human Resources to create and execute a detailed training strategy.

• Ensure that communication around CI is comprehensive, efficient, and timely.

• In partnership with the PMO, manage and govern a project pipeline and governance for all commissioned process improvement projects; must integrate and regularly update project pipeline to maintain alignment with business priorities.

• Support development of a repository of process improvement-related documents. Create and maintain document/material management governance that is in compliance with license agreements.

• Continually assess how to encourage enthusiasm and support of CI at Driscoll’s

• Conduct: Follow Company policies and practices while representing Driscoll’s in an ethical and business-like manner

Hiring: Support Technician II

JOB SUMMARY:    Second level Desktop Support of PC users. In accordance with Driscoll’s support policies provides: support for PC and general network issues, support for essential server systems; management of IT projects; training of Service Desk staff.  Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

       Associate’s degree in computer related field of study; three years of increasingly responsible experience supporting PC’s in a complex network environment; certification in applicable computer and network support functions is highly desirable
       Experience with Windows Server System Administration required
       Working knowledge of TCP/IP, the OSI 7 layer model, and simple network routing and switching technologies is required
       Experience with troubleshooting WANs, VPNs and Firewalls a plus
       Demonstrable superior interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills
       Ability to manage multiple priorities; self-starter
       A California driver’s license and the ability to be covered under company-sponsored vehicle insurance program are also required.  
       Ability to work variable scheduling, including nights and weekends

           
 RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:                 
  
1.      Desktop Support: Provides 2nd level support to users on a variety of issues. Responds to telephone calls, e-mail and personnel requests for technical support. Utilizes Service Desk software to track and monitor problems to insure a timely resolution according to Service Level Agreements.  Supports and maintains user account information.  Identifies, researches and resolves technical problems.  Shares in rotation of after business-hour response to requests for help.  NOTE:  Support work, major installations, and system or software upgrades must frequently be done during evenings, weekends, or holidays to minimize disruptions or to provide after-hour support. A support technician may be called in to work on short notice for emergency conditions or may be on-call for after-hour support activities.  Technical support is provided to locations remote from the normal work site, so a willingness to travel is required.
 2.      Hardware: Maintains, analyzes, troubleshoots and repairs computer systems, hardware and computer peripherals both locally and by traveling to other locations. Documents, maintains, upgrades or replaces hardware systems.
3.      Software: Installs new software releases, system upgrades, evaluates and installs patches and resolves software related problems
4.      Active Directory Administration: Administers computer and user accounts through Active Directory, administers distribution and security groups, create and disable user accounts, organize user and computer accounts in OUs, change and reset user passwords.
5.      Network: Works with Network Engineers to install, configure and maintain organization’s network (LAN and WAN).  Supports network operating system and supporting software.
6.      Phone System:  Provides maintenance, upgrades and support for corporate telephone system(s) and mobile phones.
7.      Projects: Manages and executes projects for the IT department, primarily related to Service Desk areas of responsibility.
8.      Training: Provide training to IT staff on support procedures and other subjects related to technical support. Continually educates self on current and future trends in Network & PC related hardware and software.
9.      Documentation: Creates documentation for or related to IT projects, system upgrades, technical support procedures, frequently asked questions, and other Service Desk related subjects.
10.  General:  Follows Company policies and practices while representing Driscoll’s in an ethical and business-like manner in all interactions with employees, governmental agencies, growers, customers, etc.  Ensures the security of Driscoll’s confidential and proprietary information and materials.  Other duties as assigned.
